Question 1

What is TekDok, in one sentence?

Accepted Answer

TekDok is an on-demand tech mentor service: press one button in the app and a real, friendly expert connects with you in moments to solve whatever is going wrong with your phone, computer, TV, router, printer, smart-home gadget, or app — no appointment, no subscription, no jargon.

Question 2

Who is TekDok for?

Accepted Answer

TekDok is built for anyone who wants tech problems solved quickly and kindly rather than diagnosed with a wall of forum posts. That includes:Adults 40+ who want a faster, less frustrating alternative to searching for answers online Families who want one trusted place to send a parent, grandparent, or teenager when something breaks Elderly users who value a patient, human voice over a chatbot or a store queue Small businesses, retailers, telecom providers, and municipalities who need reliable, scalable tech support for customers, residents, or citizens Younger users too — tech trouble isn't only a 40+ problem, and anyone, at any age, is welcome to press the button when something isn't working

Question 3

What if TekDok can't solve my problem?

Accepted Answer

Honesty comes first. When you describe your problem, if we can already see that it's not something we're able to help with, we'll tell you that upfront — before any session starts, and at no cost to you. And if we do take on the problem in good faith but ultimately aren't able to solve it because it's beyond our ability, that session costs you nothing either. You should never end up paying for an outcome you didn't get. You only ever pay when TekDok actually helps.

Question 4

What kind of problems can TekDok help with?

Accepted Answer

Anything from “my email stopped working” and “my Wi-Fi keeps dropping” to “how do I video-call my grandchildren,” “my printer won't connect,” “I think I got a scam text,” or “help me set up my new phone.” If it involves a screen, a cable, or an app, TekDok can usually help.

Question 5

Is TekDok an app, a website, or a phone line?

Accepted Answer

TekDok is a mobile app built around a single button. You tap it, and you're matched with a mentor — by chat, voice, or screen-share, whichever is easiest for you. No account menus to dig through when you're stressed and your device isn't working.

Question 6

What makes TekDok different from calling a hotline or visiting a repair shop?

Accepted Answer

No hold music, no waiting in line, no appointment. TekDok connects you to a human mentor in minutes, matched to your specific problem, and you only pay for the time you actually use.

Question 7

How much does TekDok cost?

Accepted Answer

TekDok is pay-per-minute — you pay only for the time a mentor actually spends helping you, and the price is always shown before you start. There's no subscription and no hidden fees. Right now the first 5 minutes of your first call are free.

Question 8

Do I need a subscription?

Accepted Answer

No. TekDok is pay-per-minute. With a family account the whole family shares one account at no cost, and if you use TekDok often you can buy prepaid minute bundles at a lower price — but nothing is forced on you.

Question 9

Is there a minimum charge or a hidden fee?

Accepted Answer

No hidden fees. You pay for the minutes you use, at a clear, published per-minute rate. What you see is what you pay.

Question 10

How fast can I get help?

Accepted Answer

Typically within minutes. The one-button design exists specifically to remove the friction of forms, tickets, and hold queues.

Question 11

What payment methods are accepted?

Accepted Answer

Standard card and mobile payment options are supported in the app, charged automatically per session so you never need to think about invoices.

Question 12

Can I see how much a session cost afterward?

Accepted Answer

Yes — every session shows a clear time-and-cost summary, so pricing stays transparent from start to finish.

Question 13

How does TekDok match me with a mentor?

Accepted Answer

When you describe your problem (in your own words, by text or voice), TekDok's AI reads the situation and matches you with the mentor best suited to it — whether that's a printer specialist, a smartphone expert, or someone experienced in helping first-time smart-home users.

Question 14

Is a robot going to try to fix my problem, or a real person?

Accepted Answer

A real person. The AI's job is matchmaking and preparation — getting you to the right human quickly — not replacing the human. Mentors are real people who talk you through the fix.

Question 15

Does the AI remember my previous problems?

Accepted Answer

With your permission, TekDok can keep a light history of past issues so a mentor doesn't have to start from zero if you contact them again about the same device or problem.

Question 16

What if my problem doesn't fit neatly into a category?

Accepted Answer

That's fine — just describe it in plain language. The matching system is built to handle messy, real-world descriptions like “the internet thing isn't working” just as well as precise technical terms.

Question 17

Can I set up TekDok for a parent or grandparent?

Accepted Answer

Yes. TekDok is designed so a family member can help set it up once, and after that, the older adult can use the single button independently — no need to remember passwords, menus, or who to call.

Question 18

Will the mentor be patient and explain things simply?

Accepted Answer

Yes — that's the core of the service. Mentors are chosen and trained to communicate clearly and kindly, without jargon, and to slow down for anyone who needs it. TekDok exists precisely because most tech support isn't built for people who don't want to feel rushed or talked down to.

Question 19

Can family members check in or get notified?

Accepted Answer

Family-visibility features (for example, letting an adult child see that a session happened, without seeing private details) are part of TekDok's roadmap for family and household use.

Question 20

Is it safe for an older or vulnerable relative to use alone?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Mentors never ask for passwords, banking details, or remote access without clear, explained consent, and every session is logged for accountability. TekDok is also a safe first stop for questions like “is this text message a scam?”

Question 21

What if my relative doesn't know the technical name for their problem?

Accepted Answer

They don't need to. “My screen looks funny” or “the emails aren't coming” is enough to start — the AI and the mentor work from there.

Question 22

What devices does TekDok support?

Accepted Answer

Phones and tablets (iOS and Android), Windows and Mac computers, home Wi-Fi and routers, printers, TVs and streaming devices, and common smart-home gadgets. If it's a consumer tech device, TekDok most likely covers it.

Question 23

Do I need to install anything extra on my device to get help?

Accepted Answer

No special software is required for most sessions — just the TekDok app. For hands-on fixes, a mentor may guide you through installing something specific, but only with your understanding and consent.

Question 24

Can a mentor see or control my screen?

Accepted Answer

Screen-sharing is available when it's the fastest way to help, but it's always opt-in, session-based, and clearly indicated — never automatic or hidden.

Question 25

Does TekDok work outside Scandinavia?

Accepted Answer

TekDok is launching from Sweden and Denmark, with support for Swedish, Danish, and English, and is built to expand further as demand grows.

Question 26

Is my data safe with TekDok?

Accepted Answer

Yes. TekDok is built with data protection (including GDPR-aligned handling) as a foundation, not an afterthought. Session data is used to give you better, faster help — not sold or repurposed for advertising.

Question 27

Will a mentor ask for my passwords or bank details?

Accepted Answer

No. Legitimate TekDok mentors never ask for banking credentials, and any request for a password is explained, session-scoped, and always something you control.

Question 28

Are TekDok mentors vetted?

Accepted Answer

Yes — mentors are selected and reviewed for both technical skill and communication quality, since being clear and patient matters as much as being technically correct.

Question 29

Can I get a record of what happened in my session?

Accepted Answer

Yes, session summaries are available so you (or a family member, with permission) can look back at what was done and why.

Question 30

Can TekDok help me with fake calls, phishing, or other fraud on my phone or computer?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Scams targeting phones, computers, and email are one of the most common — and most upsetting — problems we help with, and this is especially true for elderly users, who are often deliberately targeted. That includes things like fake “tech support” callers claiming your computer is infected, fake bank or e-ID calls asking you to confirm codes or transfer money, phishing emails and texts with dangerous links, fake package-delivery or invoice messages, “grandchild in trouble” or fake-relative emergency calls, and prize, lottery, or investment scams. If you're ever unsure whether something is real, TekDok is a safe first call to make. For anyone who wants extra peace of mind, we also offer an optional service where TekDok can screen your incoming calls, flagging or holding back suspicious ones before you ever have to answer them yourself.

Question 31

What happens if I lose money because of TekDok's service?

Accepted Answer

In practice this should never happen — everything about how TekDok works, from mentor vetting to session consent, is designed specifically to keep you safe from exactly that. But we take the responsibility seriously: in the unlikely event that you do suffer a financial loss as a direct result of TekDok's service, we will reimburse you in full.

Question 32

Does TekDok work with companies, not just individuals?

Accepted Answer

Yes. TekDok offers a B2B model for retailers, telecom providers, and municipalities that need to give their customers or citizens fast, reliable, affordable tech support without building an in-house team from scratch.

Question 33

What kind of companies is TekDok built for?

Accepted Answer

Electronics and appliance retailers (for post-purchase setup and troubleshooting), telecom operators (for device and connectivity support), and municipalities (for helping residents — especially older citizens — navigate digital services).

Question 34

Why would a municipality use TekDok instead of running its own support line?

Accepted Answer

Speed, cost, and specialization. TekDok gives municipalities a ready-made, on-demand support channel for digital inclusion — helping residents use e-ID, digital mail, online banking basics, and public e-services — without municipalities needing to hire, train, and manage their own technical support staff.

Question 35

Can TekDok be white-labeled or integrated into our existing customer support flow?

Accepted Answer

This is exactly the kind of partnership TekDok is built for — as a fast, transparent, AI-matched support layer that plugs into an existing customer journey (post-purchase, in-app, or on a resident-services portal) rather than replacing it outright. Reach out to discuss specifics for your organization.

Question 36

How does pricing work for business and municipal partners?

Accepted Answer

Business and municipal engagements are structured around volume and use case rather than the standard per-minute consumer rate — get in touch for a tailored proposal.

Question 37

What's the business case compared to traditional IT support providers?

Accepted Answer

Traditional support is often slow (appointments, queues), inconsistent (mixed technician quality), and expensive (fixed contracts regardless of usage). TekDok's AI-matched, pay-per-use model is built to beat traditional support on speed, price, and consistency — while keeping the human warmth that automated help desks lack.

Question 38

How do I start using TekDok?

Accepted Answer

Download the app, tell it what's wrong in your own words, and tap the button. You'll be matched with a mentor in minutes.

Question 39

Do I need an account before I can get help?

Accepted Answer

A lightweight sign-up is needed so sessions and payments are tracked properly, but it's designed to take under a minute — TekDok's whole philosophy is removing friction, not adding it.

Question 40

What if I'm not sure TekDok can help with my specific problem?

Accepted Answer

Just ask. Describing the issue costs nothing — you'll know within moments whether a mentor can help and roughly what it will cost before you commit.

Question 41

Can I try TekDok for a small problem first, before trusting it with something bigger?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely — the pay-per-minute model is ideal for exactly that. Start with something small and see how it feels; there's no subscription lock-in stopping you from just trying it once.
